Hello all! If you are still following me, it is appreciated beyond measure. My posting has been irregular due to work pressures, and more activity over at my Geotripper Blog (geotripper.blogspot.com/). But my other big project is an educational resource for anyone who finds a need for geology and earth science related digital images: Geotripper Images (geotripperimages.com/). It is a photography site of sorts, except that I and Synaptica, who put it together, are amateurs at both photography and at webmastering. On the other hand, I have amassed thousands of photographs of geological subjects, and if you ever have need of images of volcanoes, faults, glaciers, rivers, caves and other features, this may be a good place to find what you need.
Usage of photos for school projects and research is free, as it is for most non-profit uses (we'd like to know what kind of use it it for), but tips are never discouraged (if nothing else, we'd love for the site to pay for itself). If publishers wish to use images, we have low royalty-free rates.
Let us know what you think!

Best wishes for the coming year, and the Grand Cyn
A happy new year to all! I haven't been posting much, but I have been enjoying the work of those who I am following. A big thank you to all who follow me! It's been a busy year with lots of travels, and I hope to post a few more images in coming days. My year ended with a most glorious sunrise in Grand Canyon, Arizona. I'd like to offer some of the pictures and my new year's wishes to you all on my blog at http://geotripper.blogspot.com/2011/12/grand-canyon-quite-early-morning-and.html
I'm in USA Today!
I don't journalize very often, but I am in a travel feature in this weekend's edition of USA Today! It's a travel section feature on the best places to see geology in action: http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/10great/2010-04-15-geology_N.htm. I have a few shots of my favorite parks at my blog: http://geotripper.blogspot.com/2010/04/10-great-places-to-see-geology-in.html. A few pics from my gallery of those stunning geologic places: Enjoy! :thumb113268871: :thumb127217047: :thumb133929042: :thumb148662985: :thumb152625041: :thumb154797549:
On the Road!
:thumb113858487:
I'm behind on acknowledging your generous comments and favorites, but one day I will catch up. But not right away! I'm off today to get even more pictures; destination Death Valley National Park. Y'all have a really nice holiday weekend, and see you next week!
New Group on DA for Wildlife Photographers
Check out a new group for wildlife photographers on DA, Freetoroam (http://freetoroam.deviantart.com/). I'm more of a scenery photographer, and I appreciate the effort that goes into catching critters in their natural setting. My shots are mostly lucky, the real photographers have to have a lot of patience (that is an attribute I don't possess, usually) :thumb89573587: :thumb109110445:
