The Laupahoehoe Coast on the Big Island of Hawai'i. I have seen a lot of coastlines in the Americas, on Fiji, New Zealand, and others, but nothing quite like this strange landscape north of Hilo. It is haunting at the same time. Dozens of school children were swept away from here in 1946 when a massive tsunami struck.

Beautiful picture! To me the scene portrays power and even menace. Your composition of this image is so nice...I like the contrast of the rocks and water with the blue sky and cloud complimenting the deep blue water and white froth. I have to say again...I truly like how you put this all together. It has a savage beauty.
